SSS Rescue is a
non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with public
charity status 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi). We
accept donated non-venomous reptiles,
amphibians , fish (both freshwater and
saltwater), and non-native birds, primarily from
the exotic pet trade.
We also accept food, enclosures, accessories,
and other items associated with the keeping and
caring for of these animals. We rescue and
accept abandoned, unwanted, lost or confiscated
indigenous and non-indigenous animals that are
not generally supported by traditional animal
welfare or support organizations. Mammals are
not be accepted by SSS Rescue, Inc. All
animals rescued by SSS Rescue, Inc. shall be
maintained and cared for until they are returned
to an approved environment. We work closely
with several organizations that will accept and
maintain the animals in an acceptable manner,
such as zoos or exotic wildlife sanctuaries.
Remember; NEVER release non-native animals into
the wild because it is against the law and can
have a devastating impact on native wildlife as
well as the well being of the animal. We
accept donations of animal food, supportive
equipment, enclosures, accessories, protective
devices, and virtualizing technology to
facilitate internet and other mass media
presence, exhibition facilities, transport
equipment to include specialty vehicles, and
welcome the support of volunteers to maintain
both animals and facilities. We strive to
increase the public awareness of the special
habitat, food, and social interactions that many
of these animals require in order to survive.
We educate the public on existing laws regarding
possession, distribution, and purchase of these
animals. We utilize media campaigns, public
presentations to include in-school activities,
and through the virtualized world of the
internet and other mass media to get the word
out that these animals are best enjoyed watching
them over the internet rather than having a live
one in your basement.
Upon request, we provide our expertise and
support to animal control, customs, law
enforcement organizations at no charge in the
rescue of these animals to include extraction,
adoption, and caretaking of the animals until
suitable permanent locations to support the
animals can be found. We hope to provide an
exhibition activity to the general public at
some point in the future so the public can
interact with these rescued animals in a
controlled manner.
